Meade Hall Wedding Venue at The Crown and Cushion
Meade Hall is an impressive 16th century, medieval style banqueting hall situated next to The Crown and Cushion Pub in Minley, Hampshire. With its dramatic high ceilings, flagstones floors and a pretty courtyard garden, it’s a perfect setting for your wedding reception.
Bridal Preparations at The Aviator, Farnborough
Nicole got ready for her wedding at The Aviator Hotel in Farnborough. This was such a fun morning, with Nicole, her Mum, her daughter and her bridesmaids all getting ready together. I always love a busy, laughter filled morning of Bridal prep and this was exactly one of those mornings, with people popping in and out, clouds of hairspray and a few glasses of bubbly. The morning flew by!
Groom Prep at Home
While I spent a lovely morning hanging out with the ladies, Annabel headed to the home that Nicole and Simon share, to grab a few photos of the boys getting ready for the big day.
The Wedding Service at Our Lady & St Dominic Church
Nicole and Simon chose to get married at their local church, in front of their closest family and friends.
Nicole was walked down the aisle by her lovely Dad, and with Simon and Nicole’s daughter giving one of the readings, it was a real family affair.
I know some may think it’s not the ‘traditional’ way of doing things, but I think it’s SO lovely when a couples children are able to be present to witness the marriage of their parents. It makes for such a happy occasion.
The Wedding Reception at Meade Hall
Following the I do’s, Nicole and Simon headed to Meade Hall at The Crown and Cushion for their wedding reception.
Unbeknown to Nicole, the previous day Simon had created an amazing Yellow Brick Road for her to walk along to make her entrance into the venue. The Wizard of Oz is Nicole’s all-time favourite film - she even wore a pair of ruby slippers under her wedding dress. Ah Simon, you big romantic!
The guests were able to enjoy their reception drinks in the sunshine, while the kids burnt off some energy on the cricket pitch next to the venue. Fab.
The Bride and Groom
Meade Hall is the enviable position of being surrounded by fields on one side, and woods on another. On this fabulously sunny June day, we decided to head to the grassy fields next door, to take some relaxed couple portraits of the newlyweds.
Simon and Nicole had been together 15 years, (and engaged for13), at the time they got married. They have been through an awful lot together over the years, not least of all bringing up three children, but they are still totally in love with one another and they had the happiest of days.
Dinner, Speeches and into the evening
The guests were all seated at the long banqueting tables for the wedding breakfast, which was followed by some really heartfelt speeches. I think Simons brother managed to bring a tear to the eye of pretty much everyone in the room!
Congratulations Nicole and Simon - wishing you and your lovely children all the happiness in the world.
