Bridal Preparations - The Hogs Back Hotel and Northbrook Park
Kerri and her bridesmaids stayed overnight at The Hogs Back Hotel, so the bridal preparations began bright and early, with the girls all having their hair and make up done at the hotel.
Fast forward a couple of hours and we were all heading off to Northbrook Park, where the ladies finished getting ready in the newly, and stylishly refurbished wedding apartment. Time to open the pink champagne!
Nerves began to kick in a little here, so I gave Kerri and her bridesmaids a little bit of space, and headed off around the grounds, to take some photos of the gardens, and the arrival of the guests and Northbrook Park’s ever present peacocks.
The Wedding Ceremony
Kerri and Daniel were married in the stunning Vine room at Northbrook Park. The room is so perfect for a wedding ceremony, with huge windows wither side, letting in so much lovely light.
The ceremony was an emotional one, with Daniel tearing up on more than one occasion. Everyone was absolutely delighted to see these two tie the knot and they couldn’t keep the smiles from their faces.
An afternoon wedding reception at Northbrook Park
Kerri and Daniel left the vine room under a shower of pink confetti, thrown by their cheering guests. We then had a lovely couple of hours to mingle with the guests and take some awesome, natural photos of everyone enjoying themselves.
We took the formal photos of the family groups then, while everyone else was being seated for the wedding breakfast, Louise and I took the happy couple off around the grounds, for some lovely natural couple portraits. It also gave the newlyweds a chance to spend a little bit of time together, before dinner. It can be pretty full on during the afternoon, with all the guests wanting to congratulate you both, so it’s really lovely to have twenty minutes or so with just the two of you.
Dinner and Speeches
Ah, I cannot tell you how much I LOVE the orangery at Northbrook Park. It is such an amazing space, and a real dream from a photography point of view. The natural light, the exposed brick, the fairy lights, what’s not to love. (Not to mention the amazing catering!)
Another thing I love… is Bridesmaids speeches. You go girls!!
I often think it’s a shame that the ladies rarely get to speak at a wedding. You have speeches from the Brides Father, The Groom, The Best man but the Bride, the Mums and the Bridesmaids, traditionally don’t say a word. Not today! Not only did the Bridesmaids make a speech…. wait for it…. they rapped! Mic drop girls. You totally win my best speech award.
Into the Evening
Cutting the Wedding Cake, The First Dance and the throwing of the Wedding Bouquet, we had it all. The guests then hit the dancefloor for some groovy moves and partied the night away.
Congratulations Kerri and Daniel!! Thanks so much for choosing me to photograph you big day - we had an awesome time.
We hope you are ALWAYS as happy as you were on your wedding day :-)
