THROW THAT CONFETTI!!!!
Here is another one of my favourite weddings of the past couple of years - The wedding of Jessica and Jay!
These two lovebirds are right up there on my 'brides-and-grooms-who-I-want-to-be-freinds-with' list. They are such a fab couple and totally head over heels for one another. They actually met over the phone, through work, and talked for aaages, before arranging to meet. (Think Gavin and Stacey but without the Welsh Accents - Ha!) Jay even sent Jessica a pair of shoes to work when he heard she didn't have anything sparkly to wear with her Christmas jumper - the old romantic!
Fast forward a couple of years, a house move and a proposal later, and this lovely pair were married at The George In Rye, a lovely, hotel, restaurant and wedding venue in Rye, East Sussex. I had never even visited Rye before, but I was in for a treat! With cobbled streets, cute little shops and the beach just down the road, it really is a lovely place to be.
Jay and Jessica are frequent visitors to The George in Rye, so when it came to booking their wedding, it was the perfect choice.
Jessica got ready at the hotel, together with her Mum, Aunt and Sister-in-law-to-be, so I spent the morning with them, while Dan met up with Jay and waited for the arrival of the guests.
The ceremony was held in THE most beautiful room! Looking at The George from the outside, you wouldn't ever guess that this fab ballroom is right up there on the first floor. It is absolutely made for a light, bright and elegant wedding. And speaking of elegant... Jessica looked amazing in her dress. Her shoes were pretty awesome too!
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed drinks in the courtyard, while we headed out for a wander round Rye with the happy couple, before everyone headed back upstairs for the wedding breakfast, speeches and some Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Yum!
We finished our evening off with a quick hop in the car and a drive down to Camber Sands, for a couple of photos on the beach - just minutes before the sun went down.
What a great, great day it was!
Congratulations Jessica and Jay - wishing you all the happiness in the world!
