"Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside!"
There are so many things spring to mind when I think back to Charlie and Jimmy's big day, that I barely know where to start! Do I tell you about the boys going for a pre-wedding dip in the sea, the beautiful ceremony, the A-mazing decorations at the reception venue, or the fun we all had on the beach?! Phew!
When I first met Charlie and Jimmy, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from their day, having been told they were going for a sort of woodland-Indian theme, with a lot of bright colours, M&M's and a touch of Harry Potter thrown in for good measure. I knew right away that it was going to be my kind of a day.
On the big day itself, I met up with Jimmy and a couple of his pals, at Friars Cliff, Dorset... These crazy guys were going for a morning sea swim. Brrr! After a quick dip, they headed off for breakfast, while I went to meet the ladies in a nearby hotel.
Bridal prep was full of laughter, as Charlie and all her bridesmaids were getting ready together, before making their way of to Highcliffe Castle for the wedding ceremony. This was the first wedding I have photographed at Highcliffe Castle, and the ceremony room was absolutely beautiful, with the Autumn sun streaming in through the windows and Charlie and Jimmy said their "I do's".
After the ceremony, it was into the castle grounds for some drinks and laughter, before we headed down the (VERY steep), steps to the beach. We had some fun with the whole wedding party, before sending them off to the reception venue, so Louise and I could take some photos of the happy couple.
Then... it was off to The New Forest for our first glimpse of the reception venue. WOW! Is all I can say - this has to be one of my all time favourite weddings for so many reasons, not least of all the DIY decorations in the hall. It was flipping brilliant! If I ever have reason to invite a bunch of friends to a big party, I am stealing all their ideas. Every.single.one.
Anyway, I could type away all day, when what you really want to see is the photos.. so here goes. Be warned - there are a lot of them!
Huge thanks to Louise from Louise Emily Photography for photographing the day with me :-)
