"It has made me better loving you.."

Henry James ~ The Portrait of Lady

Saturday 9th May 2015, saw me once again working with the lovely Louise, from Buttons Photography in Dorset as my second shooter.

We started the day by heading down towards Southampton to meet up with the already married couple. This was somewhat of a first for me, photographing a wedding reception without first having photographed the wedding ceremony itself!

Ben and Lisa had in fact already tied the knot on a white sandy beach the week before. Maybe I should have tried harder to convince them that they needed to fly me out to Cuba to cover the ceremony ;-)

Ben and Lisa are an incredibly happy, fun filled couple. The fact that over 30 of their friends and family flew out to join them in Cuba just goes to show how popular these really guys are. They both got ready at the home they share, before heading off to East Horton Golf Club for their wedding reception.

Having never been to a wedding at East Horton Golf Club before, we were in for a treat. This is one golf club that really takes their role as a wedding venue seriously.

The wedding breakfast room was beautiful, decked out in balloons and candles, with vibrant, colourful ribbons on each chair. That’s not even getting started on the grounds; beautifully kept with nothing less than two lakes, a bluebell wood and a log cabin(!), for the bride and groom portraits. Add into the mix the fact that Ben and Lisa were up for anything photography wise, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more.

As day continued into night, the guests were kept occupied with a table of sweets, flashing glasses, a selection of glow sticks and a photobooth supplied by

This was one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to. So many smiling, laughing people in one place can only be a good thing!

Here is the story of their day..
