Bridal Preparations at the Brides Parents House
Tasha and her bridesmaids all got ready at her parents home in Waterlooville. I always think there is something really special about a bride getting ready at the home where she grew up, sharing stories of earlier years, often with the very girls she used to have round for tea after school.
From the minute I arrived, everyone was just so welcoming and the morning simply flew by! Wedding playlists, glasses of Prosecco and smiles all round were the order of the day. Top tip - don’t ask Alexa to tell you jokes on the morning of your wedding - they may not always be appropriate! Ha - enough said about that..
Groom Preparations at home
Contrary to popular belief, a wedding day isn’t just about the Bride, the Groom plays a pretty big part too! So while I spent the morning hanging out with the ladies, Annabel met up with Luke, who was getting ready at the home he and Tasha share. Although there is definitely less of the hair and make up, there are still lovely moments worth capturing. It’s definitely worth giving it some thought, if you are considering adding a second photographer to your wedding package.
The Wedding Ceremony
Tasha and Luke were married at St Thomas’ Church in Havant. I had never had the pleasure of photographing a wedding here before, so was in for a treat. Although a great deal of restoration work has been carried out in the past 100 years, the church itself originates almost 1000 years ago and feels really special, perfect for an intimate wedding service.
An Afternoon Reception at The Brookfield Hotel, Emsworth
On arrival at The Brookfield Hotel, everyone gathered for drinks in the bar, before heading out to the pretty garden, for photos.
Once the group photos were finished, Annabel and I took a few minutes with Tasha and Luke, to get some lovely photos of just the two of them, before we all headed inside for dinner and speeches.
After dinner, there was the arrival of the evening guests, before cutting the wedding cake and the first dance.
Tasha and Luke, Annabel and I had such a great time at your wedding - you are an absolutely brilliant couple, your friends and family made us feel welcome all day long - so much so, by the time we left we felt like another couple of guests! We wish you so much happiness together for many, many years to come :-)
